2 Circle City Coaches Moving on to Collegiate Positions

Congratulations to Kristine Wheeler (16-Black Head Coach & 12-Purple Assistant) and Kyp Harasymowycz (18-Black Head Coach) for taking their coaching expertise to a new level. Kristine will be assisting the Saint Joseph's College Women's Volleyball Team this fall. Kyp will also be taking his coaching talents to assist the Missouri State University Bears. Congratulations to both coaches! Good luck in your future seasons - we wish you all the best!

Moench Receives Most Outstanding Player Award

At the July 13th-15th Elite Camp at Purdue University, over 160 players competed in four divisions. Circle City player Mallory Moench received the "Most Outstanding Player" Award for the Gold Division. Mallory was also teamed with 3 other Circle City players, Rebekah Strange, Brooke Peters and Calle Weddle, to play in the camp tournament. The team tied for first place! Congratulations girls!

3 Circle City Players Receive High Honors at Notre Dame

Congratulations to Jessica Admire, Olivia Gillum and Hadley Orr for their success at the 2010 Notre Dame High School Camp! Jessica received the "Most Coachable" award which recognized the player who always asked good questions, worked on points given by coaches, & had a great attitude on the court. Olivia received the "Best Digger" award which recognized the player with the best defense and who hustled the most. Hadley received the tournament "Big Play" award which went to the player who made a huge play/save on the ball to help their team, and never gave up on it regardless of the difficulty. Congratulations players! We are proud of you!

Hintze Earns Coveted Purdue Pete Award

At the July 16th-July 18th Purdue University camp, over 330 players from 32 high school teams competed. One of Circle City's own received the coveted "Purdue Pete" award which recognizes the top player that displays the energy, hard work, and positive attitude Purdue values most. Please congratulate Sami Hintze from Zionsvile High School and Circle City 16 Black the next time you see her!

York College Tabs Rosenbaum Head Coach

NEBRASKA - York College has named Meredith Rosenbaum of Searcy, Arkansas, as the new head coach for Panther volleyball. Rosenbaum replaces Charla Stark who has transferred to a position as the college’s director of housing.

Rosenbaum, an Indiana native, currently serves as an assistant volleyball coach for Harding University where she distinguished herself as an All-Conference volleyball athlete. She will finish a master’s degree in Business Administration from Harding this spring term before making the move to York this summer. During her playing career, Rosenbaum was a four-time letter winner, captain for two seasons, named All-Conference twice, and was honored twice as an Academic All-Conference student. She was part of a program that won the Gulf South Conference four years in a row.

Weber Named to U.S. Women's A2 National Team

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - USA Volleyball has tabbed Arizona’s Paige Weber among 24 players selected to lead its U.S. Women’s National A2 Program for 2010.

The 2010 U.S. Women’s National A2 program is scheduled to train May 24-28 in Tempe, Ariz., before being split into two 12-player rosters to compete in the Open Division of the 2010 USA Open National Championships held in nearby Phoenix. The Open Division flight takes place May 29-June 1 at the Phoenix Convention Center.
