Tina joined Circle City last season after nine years with Ultimate Volleyball Club out of Frankfort, Illinois. During her first season at Circle, she coached the 13 Purple team. They recoreded multiple first place finishes, competing in both 13 & Under and 15 & Under divisions. Their most notable finishes were at Presidents Day (2nd in 13 Open) and MEQ (3rd in 13 Open). The girls ended the season qualifying for USAV Junior Nationals and finishing 11th in 13 Open.
During her nine years with Ultimate, she was the head coach of girls ranging from 12-18 years of age. She also coached in Ultimate's year round camps, classes and private lessons. While at Ultimate, Tina qualified three teams for USAV Junior National Championships, led her team to a first place finish at the ASICS Junior National Championships in 2009, and brought home a first place/silver division plaque from the AAU Championships in 2013. She worked full-time as an administrator to both the girls' and boys' programs within the club and also coached high school volleyball two years at the University of Chicago Lab School.
In her collegiate career, Tina was a defensive specialist for Penn State University from 1998-2002. During that time, Penn State qualified for the NCAA Division I tournament all five years. Penn State took home the Big Ten Championship in both 1998 and 1999. In 1999 Tina was a member of Penn State 's NCAA Division I National Championship team.
Tina made the jump from Illinois to Indiana after marrying her husband, Andrew Ryland, this past July. Andrew is a former Penn State linebacker, who now works for USA Football based in Indianapolis. Two weeks before competing in the 2014 USAV Junior Nationals, Tina and Andrew welcomed their first child, Jase Michael Ryland, to their family.
